At it's worst history is the ultimate Rorschach test. At it's best it explains the dynamics behind events. The historian sets out to help you understand the world and can never fail completely since he is part of the world and will inevitably of described himself between the lines he wrote.

This folder is currently a collection of disconnected ideas. Eventually I'd like to weave them into one narrative, like a highly abbreviated version of Will Durant's work. Though as I'm finding this is extremely difficult so I may never get around to it.
